If you are a student and want to do your unpaid internship in Peru, you do not need a special visa. You can enter as a tourist. Normally you get a permission of 183 or 90 days. With the permission you are allowed to do unpaid work until 30 hours a week.
Please make sure you inform yourself about the general visa requirements of Peru. If you need a visa or not always depends on which country you come from. Residents of the European Union, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the US do not need to apply for a visa if entering as a tourist.
Visa requirements for a paid internship in Peru
If you want to do a paid internship in Peru you need a temporal visa. The company in which you are going to do you internship need to apply in Peru for your visa. After that, you need to apply in the Peruvian Embassy of your country. Costs may vary depending on your country. If you are already in Peru you apply at migrations office.
